"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
I have been reading everyday Psalm 27. Due to the journey with my health, it seems quite fitting that it is a prayer of protection. When the scripture refers to "enemies" I equate that to dis-eases within this natural God given body of mine. "....an host encamping against me...", I equate that to medical conditions that are lurking around me. The rest of the verse just fits as a testimony to how God loves us and protects us all - we just have to show him endless love and show him that we have Faith in him no matter what because he is the Captain of our ship.

Cherrylin, thank you so much for sharing your heart felt reflection from Psalm 27. I remember offering spiritual care support to a young lady many years ago who was battling a devastating disease and every time I went to visit her she requested that I read Psalm 27. I worked with her for seven months and she eventually got well and walked out of the hospital. She was well enough to return home to take care of her four children. Our God is so merciful and He cares so much for us as we go through these overwhelming obstacles. Jesus is the great physician and the present help in time of trouble. Yes, let us show him our endless love and thanksgiving. My prayers are with you.
