The psalmist encourages us to "taste and see that the Lord is good." The spiritual sense of "taste" has to do with experiencing the goodness of God. It is not a 'head thing' but speaks about our connection with God "heart to heart." Peter picks this theme up as he describes our relationship with Jesus writing 'crave spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good' (1Peter 2:2-3). We are invited to keep feeding on Jesus and tasting his goodness through all the stages of our lives.
