Every Advent season is an opportunity to prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus. The challenge we face is that we become so busy with other things that we have no time or space to receive him into our hearts. The example of John the Baptist is a reminder that we are to prepare the way of the Lord in our own mind and spirit so that we hear Christ’s fresh word of invitation and solicitude.
