The canticle of Simeon is a beautiful offering of praise, hope and inspiration. It reminds us of God’s compassion and intention to bring us to a place of peace and rest. As Simeon holds the Christ child and offers his benediction of blessing so we in our own way hold Jesus and cradle him in our arms. Doing so we in our own way hold, cradle, and protect Jesus in our arms and offer him to Abba as our Saviour and Lord.
