If you have spent much time in the Christian community you have already gained knowledge and experience. So the question is not so much: "I need to learn more," as "I need to yield to what I already know." I believe this is the experience of the Psalmist as he pens Psalm 25. He has travelled with God a long way - what he needs now is to go deeper with what has already been revealed. It speaks to the reality of "saying yes" to God. The emphasis is to "yield" to the Spirit where you are presently holding back. You already know what is needed. The question is "will you do it?"
