The psalmist evaluates his life and recognizes that he has passed through challenging times. He illustrates this truth by saying that he has known both 'fire & water' and has been 'refined like fire'. Life has not been easy yet he praises God for hearing his cries and invites the assembly of faith to hear his word of testimony.
We also have experienced the turmoil of 'fire & water' and been refined like silver - may we pass throgh such harrowing times with a faith that is not shaken and confidence in God's sustaining love.
