The message of Advent is subtle, quiet, unobtrusive. It is not like the world’s messages that are screamed from gigantic billboards and worldwide newsfeeds. As a result the good news of Jesus as our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace can be missed – it can slip by in the busyness of the Christmas season. May we stay alert and not become “sluggish” (hard of hearing) to the eternal truth of God’s compassionate love in Jesus.
