The Preacher of the book of Hebrews (maybe Priscilla?) names Jesus to be 'the Champion' of our salvation. It is Jesus who overcomes the evil one by passing through the death barrier and who grants us the gift of abundant life. In light of this resplendent gift our focus needs to remain sharp so we do not become distracted or swayed by competing goals. Indeed, Jesus is to be the centre of our worldview and our everyday faith journey.
