As we begin the new year of 2025 we will consider the life of David during our Sunday morning services. It is an exciting story as a shepherd boy/musician who works in the fields of Bethlehem is chosen by God to become the king of Israel. David represents the marginalized person—an ordinary youth in a lowly position—but he has a heart after God and that makes all of the difference. David’s life is an inspiration for us all because we can all pursue our relationship with God in an equally passionate manner. Nothing can hold us back if we have the will to seek after God’s face. Together may we learn from King David and give our all for the kingdom of God in this winter season.
