In the final letter to the Seven Churches of Revelation Jesus is presented as the waiting Christ. Christ encourages the church to a higher degree of self-reflection so that they understand their real condition before God. Jesus counsels them to repent and open their hearts to him so that they can regain a relationship of spiritual intimacy.
