The Gospel of Mark announces that Jesus, who had been crucified, has been raised by God to enjoy resurrection life. The women at the empty tomb hear these revolutionary words and are commissioned to share the good news to the Disciples of Christ. However, upon hearing the news they draw back in fear even as the disciples did at the crucifixion. At this point the story resonates with our own responses – do we hold back in fear or do we announce the good news of Easter in confidence and joyful hope?
