The people of Israel are anticipating the invasion of the Babylonian invaders. They have also heard from the prophets (including Habakkuk) that God will ultimately strike down the invading armies and the people will be restored to the land. With this in mind, the question becomes, “How do the people live in the meantime?”
If we jump ahead to our own day, we are also facing an invader in COVID-19. So we also are facing an interim period as we wait for newness to come and stability to replace our current time of instability. The question remains, “How do we live in the meantime?” How do we wait for newness to emerge?
