What gives our lives meaning? Are we shaped completely by family dynamics, job success, size of salary or other external factors? Or is there a deeper foundation and calling to our lives that gives us meaning and purpose? Jesus suggests in the scriptural pearl before us (Matthew 9:35-38) that there is indeed a fundamental vocation from God that can energize us and inspire us to live with passion, purpose, and joy - the invitation is to join God as His partners in the great work of establishing God's kingdom on earth. As we do so God's peace becomes our peace, His purpose becomes our purpose, and His joy becomes our joy.
