Advent is about God breaking into our world n solidarity through his Son, Jesus Christ. God takes on flesh in Jesus to reveal his eternal love so that we might become his beloved children. To highlight this truth Jesus uses the language of friendship sharing that he does not desire a dynamic of servitude but one in which we become his friends and daily companions.
