Jesus invites us to claim our inheritance as children in the family of God. Such an inheritance is a gift of our loving God made possible through the self-giving of Jesus. As a result we become not only Jesus’ friends but also his brothers and sisters (Hebrews 2:11-12). In this Advent season may we rejoice that our future hope is sure because of Jesus’ familial love for each one of us.
