In our extroverted world we know little of the interior spiritual disciplines of silence, solitude and prayer. We like to be busy and active and shy away from seeking out the quiet place to fill up our spiritual wells. Jesus knows better. In spite of being busy in ministry Jesus constantly maintains the practice of an “awakened heart” which locates its source in the practice of prayer. Let us turn again to ‘The Gospel of God’ (written by Mark) to inform our hearts and minds on the needed balance of work, rest and prayer.
